Bosch presents electrical work tools designed to increase technicians’ safety and productivity, Beres, Bosch

Jakarta, 17 September 2025 - In 2024, Indonesia recorded 462,241 workplace accidents , with the construction sector among the largest contributors. Meanwhile, the 2025–2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) projects the creation of more than 1.7 million new jobs in the electrical sector[2] . These conditions underscore the importance of using equipment that is not only efficient but also provides adequate protection for field workers, particularly those involved in high-risk electrical work. To support this need, Bosch Indonesia, through its Power Tools Division, officially launched the GVD 1000-17 Professional non-contact voltage tester and a range of VDE-certified insulated[3] hand tools at Electrical & Power Indonesia 2025.

The support of a reliable voltage tester and safety-tested insulated hand tools enables technicians to handle complex tasks more easily while maintaining consistent work quality across every project. To meet this need, Bosch equips the GVD 1000-17 Professional non-contact voltage tester with the capability to detect voltages from 24 V up to 1,000 V AC, featuring dedicated sensitivity at 24 V to ensure precise measurements in various situations. The device is designed to be flexible, robust, and adaptable across different conditions while remaining safe to use. Its IP67 protection rating makes it resistant to dust, water immersion, and impacts from heights of up to two meters.

Built-in features such as a flashlight and belt clip enhance practicality, especially when working in low-light environments. In addition, the automatic self-test feature—performed during testing and repeated every five seconds after installation to verify device functionality—ensures the tool is always ready for use and minimizes the risk of operational errors.

Kevin Krisna Sadeli, Marketing Manager for Measuring Tools Bosch Indonesia, explained, “The GVD 1000-17 Professional also carries a CAT IV 1000 V[4] safety rating, indicating the highest safety standard for electrical measurement tools capable of handling voltages up to 1,000 volts. The device is equipped with a tip indicator that lights up in red, orange, or green, accompanied by beeps and vibration, allowing technicians to detect the presence of voltage more clearly and reducing the risk of errors in the field.”

In addition to the voltage tester, Bosch also introduced 36 types of VDE-certified insulated hand tools that provide protection up to 1,000 V AC (alternating current) and/or 1,500 V DC (direct current), acknowledging that one-third of a technician’s daily tools are hand tools. This entire range is designed to minimize the risk of electric shock and protect technicians from accidental electrical contact while working. The lineup includes:

• Insulated screwdrivers in various types and sizes: slotted, Phillips, Torx, Pozidriv, and combination sets of different dimensions, along with an AC voltage tester rated up to 250 V.
• Insulated multifunction pliers, including combination pliers, diagonal cutters, long-nose pliers, wire strippers, adjustable multifunction pliers, and specialized crimping pliers for cable connectors.
• Insulated wrenches in sizes 8–17 mm, made from durable chrome-vanadium steel with a 15° jaw angle for easier access to tight spaces.
• Several sets are also compatible with the Bosch L-BOXX tool cases for practical storage, helping technicians keep their tools organized and ready for use. The handles of these insulated hand tools are ergonomically designed, and their hardened steel shafts ensure high precision and long-lasting durability.
