Myth 2: Dishwasher uses more water

Fact: Modern dishwashers are designed to use the right amount of water for each wash cycle. A University of Bonn study published by Choice.com found that washing 144 items manually requires 100 liters of water, so they're more efficient.

According to the tests performed by the Institute for Integrative Hygiene and Virology related to the removal of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses (e.g. Murine Parvo MVM, Corona, Influenza, Noro) and bacteria (Enterococcus faecium) in the tested programmes with wash temperatures up to 70°C. Regarding water usage, the amount of water required by the Bosch dishwasher is around 8 liters or around Rp 70 (PDAM tariff Rp 7,450/m3). The water used is for one wash cycle using Eco mode at 50 degrees Celsius. If calculated with one wash every day, the use of water and electricity in a month is also more efficient at only around Rp 49 thousand.
